Panduan Piala Dunia FIFA 2026
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to be the largest and most comprehensive football tournament in history. For the first time ever, 48 teams will participate in this massive event, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This marks the first time three nations have jointly hosted the World Cup.
The tournament kicks off on June 11, 2026 with the opening match at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, and concludes with the grand final at MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey on July 19, 2026. A total of 104 matches will be played across 16 different stadiums — 11 in the US, 2 in Canada, and 3 in Mexico.
The new format represents a significant expansion from the previous 32-team structure. The 48 teams are divided into 12 groups of 4. The top 2 teams from each group, plus the 8 best third-placed teams, advance to the Round of 32. This creates more exciting matchups and gives more nations a chance to experience World Cup football.
Among the favorites, defending champions Argentina lead the way alongside France, England, and Brazil. Host nation USA is also expected to make a strong showing in front of their home crowd. The tournament will feature cutting-edge technology including enhanced VAR, semi-automated offside detection, and advanced analytics tracking.
The venues are world-class — MetLife Stadium (82,500 capacity) hosts the final, Estadio Azteca (87,523) hosts the opener, and AT&T Stadium (80,000) is among the largest. With billions of viewers expected worldwide, the 2026 World Cup promises to be the biggest sporting event in history, bringing together cultures and nations through the universal language of football.
